Specialist Experience
Our primary business activity is as Architects in the Healthcare,
Education and Biomedical/Biological Research fields with a
particular specialism in complex highly serviced buildings.

Education
Our experience in the Education sector dates from the early
1950’s and has included many new primary and secondary
schools for both the public and private sectors as well as
eight new training colleges ranging up to £15m construction
value. We have been working in Universities continuously
since the 1960’s and are currently working on many projects
at 9 different Universities in Scotland, England and Northern
Ireland.

Research Facilities
We have been involved continuously since the 1960’s in the
provision of laboratory and related facilities for biomedical
research, engineering and microelectronics and this work has
included both refurbishments of existing buildings as well as
many new buildings ranging up to £200M construction value.
This has included a continuous involvement since the 1960’s
in the provision of biological research facilities as well as
veterinary research, treatment and teaching facilities.
We are currently appointed on major Framework Agreements
for 2004 to 2008 with the Medical Research Council, King’s
College, London and Imperial College, London which
substantially involve both new build and refurbishment works
to provide biomedical research laboratories and related
specialist facilities.

Healthcare
Our involvement in Healthcare has extended from the early
1950’s to the present and has included four major new hospital
complexes as well as many separate specialist buildings
and projects for specialist departments, ranging up to £60M
construction value. In recent years we have undertaken
projects for 17 different NHS Trusts and one major private
hospital.

PLANNING SUPERVISORS
We have qualified Planning Supervisors who operate a
separate Planning Supervisor Service and they are currently
engaged on projects up to a Construction Value of £35m.
