The project involved the redevelopment and refurbishment of the existing St Mary’s Medical School Building, Paddington including the complete renewal of services and the upgrade of the main Praed Street façade.

The refurbishment provides top quality Research, Teaching and Office Accommodation. The research accommodation includes laboratory facilities. The Teaching Accommodation included Clinical Skills, Seminar Rooms and a New Lecture Theatre.

High Grade office accommodation was created on the Praed Street wing which included increasing the floor area by adding in an additional floor. Total Office accommodation 2000msq.

A masterplan for the redevelopment of the whole building was carried out initially which included a strategy for the upgrade of the whole services infrastructure. Thereafter, the construction work has been carried out under separate contracts phased over 5 years both to match the availability of funding and to allow the building and ongoing teaching and research work to continue throughout.
