Approach

This new healthcare facility provides a new regional cancer care service to the West of Scotland and centralises all North Glasgow oncology services from existing sites at the Western Infirmary, Gartnavel General Hospital, Stobhill Hospital and haemato-oncology services from Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

This major healthcare project was publicly funded with additional input received from three charitable organisations as development partners namely, Friends of the Beatson, Teenage Cancer Trust and Macmillan Cancer.

While being fit for purpose the facility is also a landmark building that reflects the values of the trust and offers a welcoming and non-institutional environment for its users. It pays reference to its immediate environment and stands as an optimistic and positive image for the future of healthcare provision in the West of Scotland.
