Bone Building 1401 L3 Labs
BMJ Architects has been carrying out refurbishment projects within the Acex and Bone Buildings of Imperial College over 5 phases for 7 years.
Phase 5 of the ongoing refurbishment of the Acex and Bone buildings consisted of the refurbishment and reconfiguration of three underutilised computer rooms to create four new research laboratory spaces, on the west side of Level 3 BONE for Chemical Engineering. One of the research laboratories has a large viewing window to allow visitors to observe the work undertaken without entering the laboratory itself. The project included for the provision of 26 fume cupboards and associated heating, ventilation and cooling, together with specialist extract ductwork and energy efficient controls.
We delivered the state of the art laboratory and write up for academic staff whilst the building was kept the building was kept operational.
