BMJ was commissioned by Arklet Housing Association to design & build 12 two-bedroom units to meet the Standards of Housing for Varying Needs for the elderly.

The ground floor accommodation has been designed to be barrier free and the provision of an 8-person disabled lift provides easy access to all floors.

The development is equipped with a Wardens Call system which can be expanded to meet the needs of the individual resident. This, coupled with the type of construction has meant that each unit can be easily and quickly adapted. The site is generally flat and there is good access to local shops and public transport that will allow the residents to live independent lives.
