His portfolio spans life sciences, higher education and healthcare, where he is recognised for his very extensive technical expertise and client-focused solutions.
Nick has 25 years’ experience designing innovative life science laboratory projects across the UK, including licensed GMP, SAPO, GMO & ACDP laboratories. This is in both the public & private sectors, ranging from £250k refurbishments to over £500m new build for the largest laboratory in Europe of its type, the Francis Crick Institute. His clients include the Medical Research Council, DEFRA, Imperial College London, University College London, LSHTM & King’s College London.
He also has 18 years of NHS experience at major teaching hospitals, including major new builds and complex refurbishments for King’s College, UCLH, GSTT, Chelsea & Westminster and Royal Free Hospitals.
He is highly experienced in developing solutions to clients’ complex problems across all design & construction stages. Working closely with the project stakeholders on the project journey, he is a leader in his core sectors, translating project briefs & vision into sustainable, innovative, aesthetic, technical and buildable solutions which meet regulatory requirements. His collaborative Team approach, combined with a solution -rather -than -problem nature, creates a positive and high -performing project environment from start to completion.
His accumulation of in-depth knowledge includes specialist experience in developing bespoke gastight fabric, complex phasing options, decanting strategies, developing bio-sealed environments, GMP Aseptic & Gene Therapy cleanrooms and re-occupation & fumigation strategies.
I enjoy fell walking across the UK, including the Lake District, Eryri, and the beloved Yorkshire Dales, throughout the ever-changing seasons. Whilst in the warmer months, I am passionate about gardening, followed by skiing with the family in the remote Rhodope Mountains in the colder months.
